Cowley College Music Department to present Christmas Vespers concert Dec. 11

Christmas VespersCelebrate the holiday season with music by attending the annual Christmas Vespers Concert on Sunday, Dec. 11. The concert will feature traditional Christmas music by the Cowley College Concert Choir. There is no cost to attend the event.

The Concert Choir will take the stage under the direction of Connie Donatelli to perform songs people treasure this time of year.

“I am so proud that this tradition has become such a big part of the community,” Donatelli said.

The Concert Choir will open by performing Of the Father’s Love Begotten, and will then perform a processional of Come Today Children Sing, followed by the Little Drummer Boy, Darkest Midnight in December, I Saw Three Ships, and a gorgeous rendition of The First Noel. They will also sing traditional Christmas carols.

In keeping with the tradition of the Vespers Concert, the Concert Choir will end the concert with a candlelight performance.

“This makes for a special moment that we don’t all get at Christmas,” Donatelli said.

A reception will be held in the Earle N. Wright Community Room following the concert.
