Students honored during President�s Reception


receptionCongratulating Cowley College students on a job well done, president Dr. Patrick J. McAtee and the school’s administration, held a reception to recognize the students’ accomplishments Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Sue Saia, vice president of student affairs, spoke of the students’ achievements as a side show played in the background.

“I want to commend the students on their successes and wish them the best of luck in the second semester,” Saia said.

Saia had each of the following groups of students stand up to be recognized for their hard work and success in the first semester: Students of the Month; Student Athletes of the Month; Volleyball National Champions; All-Americans; Concert Band; Men’s Soccer; CC Singers; Arkalalah Queen Candidates; Concert Choir; Cowley Tutors; Jazz Band; Our Town Fall Play cast and crew members; “Caught Ya” Doing Something Good recipients; Hafner Center Helpers (those who helped with the landscaping); Cowley Ambassadors; Resident Assistants; Student Senate members; and members of the Cowley Activity Awareness Team (C.A.A.T.).

Saia also thanked the sponsors and coaches of these students for helping them to be successful.

Dr. McAtee praised the students for being good representatives of the school.

“I want you to know we appreciate all your hard work,” Dr. McAtee said.

Cake and punch were served following the announcements.
