Pair of in-services held for adjunct instructors

adjunctsWith 205 adjunct instructors playing vital roles at Cowley College during the 2012-2013 academic year, the school recently held a pair of in-services.

On Monday, 59 adjunct instructors took part in the in-service held at Cowley College’s Mulvane Center. On Tuesday, an additional 30 adjunct instructors took part in the in-service held at the school’s main campus in Arkansas City.

Each semester the in-services consist of institutional updates.

The adjunct instructors teach all disciplines and have varying workloads. Some will teach in the traditional classroom setting, while others will conduct online or hybrid courses.

Janice Stover, director of academic enrichment, has high praise for the adjunct faculty at Cowley College.

“The college relies heavily on adjunct, part-time instructors, to cover course loads and provide quality education to our students,” Stover said.
