Work on Cowley College’s Travis Hafner Training Center earned Conco Construction an Award of Honor at the Associated General Contractors of Kansas annual awards ceremony held Jan. 18 at the Wichita Marriott hotel. The event was part of AGC of Kansas’ 79th annual convention.

The AGC has 225 member firms and 8,000 employees in the state of Kansas.

Cowley College received a plaque in recognition of the work done by Conco Construction on the Travis Hafner Training Center.

"We were very pleased to work with Conco Construction on this project,” Cowley College interim president Tony Crouch said. “While it was truly a collaborative effort between them and our architects, Gordon and Associates, Conco was able to incorporate the design elements that kept this from being just another building. We are very proud to have the Center recognized this way."

The Travis Hafner Training Center, which is located at 115 E. Pierce (next to the Tiger Baseball Stadium) in Ark City, is considered to be one of the top junior college indoor training centers in the nation. The facility features a multi-purpose area, batting cages, weight facility, athletic training room, a pair of conference rooms, as well as locker rooms and restrooms.

The baseball, track, cross country and soccer coaches also have offices in the Training Center.
