Area schools represented at Principal and Counselor Day

In appreciation of the efforts made by the principals and counselors at area high schools in helping students transfer to Cowley College, the school’s main campus in Arkansas City held a Principal and Counselor Day on Wednesday.

Following a welcome address from Cowley College interim president Tony Crouch, campus administrators and directors provided an update on the programs they represent. While, director of admissions, Lory West provided those in attendance with admissions and scholarship updates as well as placement testing information.

The principals and counselors on hand were then treated to an exceptional performance by the CC Singers under the direction of Connie Donatelli, vocal music director and a tour of the campus. The day concluded with lunch in the Earle N. Wright Community Room, where principals and counselors were able to visit with current Cowley students that were graduates of their respective schools. Lunch was provided by Great Western Dining.

West was pleased with the opportunity to have a record number of 26 principals and counselors in attendance for the day.

“This event gives us the opportunity to update and inform them of the exciting changes at the college and to showcase our campus and all the outstanding programs and activities that Cowley has to offer,” West said. “We received good feedback and thought the day went really well.”
