Cowley College Singers stay busy on Valentine�s Day


CC SingersMaking it a memorable Valentine’s Day for numerous individuals in Arkansas City and Winfield, the Cowley College singers performed singing Valen-grams throughout the County on Wednesday and raised nearly $1,000 to help with future performances.

Thirty nine individuals ordered Singing Valen-grams, which consisted of the Cowley College Singers delivering one or more songs, one carnation and one beautiful handmade valentine’s card to a lucky recipient.

The Cowley College Singers, under the direction of vocal music director Connie Donatelli, is a highly visible and entertaining performance ensemble.

Song selections included, Let Me Call You Sweetheart; I Love You Truly; Hooked on a Feeling; I’ll Be There (Jackson 5); Close to You (Carpenters); Let it be Me (I Bless the Day I Found You); Happy Together; I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You (Elvis); Stand by Me; and Lean on Me.

The CC Singers will perform at the 20th year celebration of the Friends University Jazz Festival Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sebits Auditorium on the campus of Friends University. They will also be featured along with the Cowley Jazz Band during its concert on Tuesday, April 23. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. inside the Robert Brown Theatre.
