Creative Writing Prodigy Award winners accept scholarships to Cowley College


awardsThree individuals were the recipients of Creative Writing prodigy awards during the Prodigy Awards and Portfolio Review Day Wednesday on Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City. Each award winner accepted a scholarship to attend Cowley College in the fall.

Alecia Henson of Argonia (Norwich High School) won the top award. Henson has accepted a Humanities scholarship and will work closely with both Adam Borth, Cowley College director of communications, and Humanities Department Chair Marlys Cervantes, for her scholarship and degree plans in Broadcasting/Creative Writing.

Kaylee Walker of Udall was awarded second place for her portfolio. She accepted a Creative Writing scholarship and plans to major in Creative Writing.

Ian Brannan of Hutchinson (Haven High School) took home third place and accepted a Creative Writing scholarship. He will be a Liberal Arts major, studying both writing and music.
