IMPACT holds spring banquet

Recognizing graduating sophomores in Cowley College’s IMPACT program, the student success group held its annual Spring Banquet Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Eighty students attended the event which consisted of dinner provided by Great Western Dining, and a special presentation from guest speaker Richard Leighton from Prairie View Christian Camp, located just outside Arkansas City.

Leighton told those in attendance to stay morally strong, never give up, and always have hope no matter the ups and downs in life.

The evening also consisted of a comedy skit performed by Cowley art instructor Mark Flickinger and local musician/former Cowley director of piano and theory, Steve Butler.

IMPACT is a federally funded Student Support Services TRIO program designed to help Cowley College students succeed. They provide valuable services, including transfer visits, tutoring, IMPACT courses, career exploration, and cultural trips.
