Cowley hosts Homeschool College Experience

Providing an opportunity for homeschool students to explore one of the best kept secrets in Kansas higher education, Cowley College hosted the Homeschool College Experience Wednesday at its main campus in Arkansas City.

Students in attendance were from Winfield, Clearwater, Coldwater, Wellington and Kechi.

The purpose of the day was to show the students and their families what Cowley College has to offer in terms of the school’s majors and programs, activities, athletics, scholarships and facilities.

Along with a campus tour, an informational presentation was held in the Earle N. Wright Community Room. Students learned why Cowley was the first community college in Kansas to receive a Tier I rating for homeschool friendly admissions practices by the Home School Legal Defense Association.

Students were also treated to lunch in the Patrick J. McAtee Dining Center.

“I thought the day went very well, I feel that the students and families were able to explore firsthand the different program areas that they are interested in as well as receive an extensive tour of our outstanding campus,” admissions director Lory West said.
