Cropek receives scholarship from Fort Hays State University

Submitting a portfolio of work he has done at Cowley College, sophomore Craig Cropek recently received a Department of Art & Design Transfer Scholarship from Fort Hays State University.

Cropek’s portfolio consisted of various oil paintings and a limestone sculpture he made at Cowley. The art and chemistry double major was happy to learn of the scholarship.

“I went on a transfer visit to Fort Hays and liked the campus,” Cropek said. “I also heard they are a credible school in terms of art and sciences.”

At Cowley, Cropek is involved in Chi Alpha, Art Club, ACES, Student Senate and Boxman Bible Study. He has been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and received honors in Mu Alpha Theta and Phi Theta Kappa.

“The staff at Cowley really wants to help you excel at whatever you do,” Cropek said. “Before Cowley I would have never thought of being a professor, but now that is what I would like to do in the future.”
