Cowley employees attend professional development event


Friday, April 19th, was the Colleague to Colleague (C2C) organization’s Spring Symposium, hosted by Wichita State University. Presenters and attendees shared information about their favorite teaching techniques, assignments, and educational technology tools and applications, in keeping with the theme of the symposium: A Few of Our Favorite Things!” Cowley College adjunct English instructor, Jenny Roberts, was a featured presenter, and shared her use of Padlet (an interactive web-based bulletin board) for collecting student observations and comments regarding assigned poetry readings.


Professional Development eventJulie Rorabaugh, director of instructional technology at Cowley College and current Chair of the C2C organization also attended the event.

“The enthusiasm and willingness of Cowley instructors to try new things and to share with their colleagues is very impressive,” Rorabaugh said. “It was great to have such a great Cowley turn-out.”

The next major C2C event will be SIDLIT (Summer Institute for Distance Learning and Instructional Technology) held August 1-2 at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS.
