Talent on display at Sophomore Art Show

art showDemonstrating the impressive work created during their time at Cowley College, second-year students in the school’s Art Department had their work on display during the Sophomore Art Show held April 5-30 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

A reception honoring the students was held April 25 prior to Mr. Cinderfella.

The work consisted of paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptural projects. Students organized the show and hung all of the pieces.

Amy Sternberger was among the students that had their work on display. She presented oil and water color paintings as well as sculptures and ceramic pieces she made during her two years at Cowley. She also sold her oil painting titled “Hope” at the Art Show.

“It was rewarding to look at all of the work I had done over the last two years,” Sternberger said. “Coming to Cowley and meeting other art students helped me become a better artist.”

Students involved in the Sophomore Art Show were: Amanda Dantas, Samantha Nichols, Abby Farris, John Laffitte, Kiefer Waltman, Marc Hunt, Alex Bowker, Henry Engelmeyer, and Amy Sternberger.
