New employees take part in orientation

Familiarizing themselves with Cowley College, 16 new employees of the school took part in orientation Wednesday on the main campus in Arkansas City.

The day’s agenda consisted of an overview of the college provided by vice president of student affairs, Sue Saia, as well as a presentation on the history of Cowley College provided by vice president for institutional advancement, Ben Schears. Janice Stover, director of academic enrichment, discussed Cowley language and technologies. While, Linda Kreutzer, director of human resources, went over employee benefits/HR policies and procedures.

After a break for lunch in the McAtee Dining Center, individuals returned to Webb Brown Room 208 for a Cowley Quality Initiative presentation from executive vice president of business services, Tony Crouch.

On Thursday, the new employees will receive an academic overview from vice president of academic affairs, Slade Griffiths; an academic policies/faculty access site presentation from associate dean of instruction, Greg Nichols and Janice Stover; a rundown on the purchase order/leave request system from accounting coordinator, Joycelyn Goff; and go over HR paperwork with payroll and benefit specialist, Ellen Kelly.

New employees taking part in the orientation were: Dennis Abington, Kathy Blaine, Dereck Chilcott, Linda Kreutzer, Lisa Miller, Michael Moore, Jennifer Odom, Matt Soule, Sam Vogele, Mitchell Wright, Stephani Johns-Hines, Shelly Huffman, Matthew Nies, Lindsay Ramirez, Daniel Higdon, and Mark Dykes.
