Dynamic Fitness classes offered at Wellness Center

With Dynamic Fitness classes beginning Sept. 1 at a cost of only $5 per class, Cowley College’s Ben Cleveland Wellness Center is accepting registration.

The Dynamic Fitness classes are Instructor driven organized group classes. Classes are open to anyone.

Each class costs $5 with the exception of Ballroom Dance, Tai Chi and Kung Fu which require a month by month commitment to receive the maximum benefit of the activity. 

Cowley students may pay at the Wellness Center or can purchase classes and use student loan money. Cowley employees may pay at the Wellness Center or use payroll deduction. While, community members may pay at the front desk of the Wellness Center.

Class Descriptions:

Classes are given by Nationally Certified Zumba Instructors. Zumba Fitness is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie- burning dance fitness-party that's sweeping the Nation. Extremely addictive. Highly motivated. Anyone can do it.
Kung Fu
Instructor SI FU Master. Kung Fu offers self-defense, health wellness concepts and self-control.  This art does not focus on techniques intended for sporting events.
Tai Chi
Instructor SI FU Master. Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art form that uses slow body movements to develop balance, strength and flexibility.
Kick Boxing
Certified Trainer. Cardio aerobic activity that simulates a martial art medium. If you are the type of person who likes aggressive exercise Kick Boxing is guaranteed to rev up your heart rate, burn calories at a maximum rate. Highly motivated instructors will challenge students while having fun.
Self Defense
Certified Instructors from different professional backgrounds and programs. To be announced later. Will be offered 2-3 times a semester.
Certified Namaste Yoga Proprietress/Instructor Yoga. Yoga has been used to alleviate problems associated with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, migraine headaches, asthma, shallow breathing, backaches, diabetes, menopause, multiple sclerosis, varicose veins, carpal tunnel syndrome and many chronic illnesses. It also has been studied and approved for its ability to promote relaxation and reduce stress.
Personal Training
Gage Musson Certified personal trainer (pricing set per Trainer with first session free). A personal trainer is an exercise professional with the knowledge and experience to offer advice and guidance in the areas of exercise and fitness. These professionals can assist you by designing a safe and effective exercise program to help you reach personal goals. A personal trainer can assist with weight loss, exercise performance and improved wellness.
Ballroom Dance
Certified Dance Instructor. Be fit. Change your body, your outlook and your life. Dance your way to a healthy happier lifestyle learning the dance of the ballrooms. Dancing is the answer to your sedentary days at the office. Sold in monthly packages. Dances will focus on one dance style a month to generate student confidence and technique.

Hours of Operation:

Wellness Center hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Wellness Center is open Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 3-7 p.m.
