Students, community members treated to free hot air balloon rides

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Continuing to bring fun and exciting opportunities to the Cowley College campus, the school’s Student Life Department offered students, faculty, staff and community members a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in a Hot Air Balloon Tuesday night at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

The event drew 275 participants and several more on lookers.

“The students loved it,” Kristi Shaw, director of student life said. “I heard so many people say that this was one thing on their bucket list they wanted to do.”

The company Rohr Balloons operated the Hot Air Balloon rides and even stayed past their regularly scheduled time to see to it that everyone that showed up for the event got a chance to go up in the balloon.

Shaw said the event ranks among one of the best she has ever brought to the school.

“You could say it had the WOW factor,” Shaw said.
