More than 300 individuals take part in Senior Day at Cowley College


Senior DaySeniors from across Kansas and Oklahoma took part in Cowley College’s Fall Senior Day held Wednesday on the school’s main campus in Arkansas City. A total of 313 students and parents took part in the day.

“Senior day is always a fun and informative day for area Seniors to come on campus and learn more about Cowley, the day could not have gone any better.” Lory West, director of admissions said.

Students were given an opportunity to choose from breakout sessions, featuring information about financial aid, scholarships, admissions, student life, campus tour and a parent session. Students also took part in a senior fair where information was available from over 40 different organizations/areas including all the club/activity sponsors, academic departments, athletic coaches and student life staff. The fair was held inside W.S. Scott Auditorium and was a tremendous success.

“The sessions were very informative and the students were excited to have the opportunity to meet with the various Cowley organizations during the fair,” West said. “Thank you so much to all the clubs, academic areas, athletic coaches and student life individuals for having a table at the fair.”

West praised the work done by the college’s facilities and maintenance crews as well as Cowley employees Ben Schears, Kristi Shaw, Landon West, Mark Richardson, Roy Reynolds, Charlee Wilson, Matt Soule, Sally Palmer, Lisa Grose, Greg Schartz, Rikki Hettenbach, Terri Hutchinson, and Krystle McCorgary.

Students also had a chance to win prizes by answering trivia questions about the college while lunch was provided for the students and their parents in the Brown Center’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
