Research and Technology team members win Fittest Department Challenge

wellness awardThe Research and Technology Department at Cowley College were recognized as winners of the school’s fall 2013 Fittest Department Challenge during the All-College Meeting held Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Seven departments took part in the challenge, with the Research and Technology Department participants accumulating over 400 points more than the next closest department.

Research and Technology Department team members were, Kelly Johnson, Bryan McChesney, Kevin Clark, Julie Rorabaugh, Clinton Marlow, Diana Dicken, Janet Kennedy, Mark Britton, Julie Perdue, and Shelly Huffman.

Team members received points for participating in wellness activities. Nearly 100 employees accumulated more than 30,000 points while taking part in wellness related activities.

Kelly Johnson was the top individual point scorer, while Patty Mugler placed second and Janet Kennedy finished third. Johnson was awarded $100 worth of wellness related items, while Mugler and Kennedy received $75 and $50 worth of wellness related items, respectively.

Wellness Team leader Jody Arnett, along with Tabitha Farley, Cowley College coordinator of student health services, presented the Research and Technology Department with a trophy for their efforts.
