Homecoming King and Queen to be crowned Feb. 12

Voting for Cowley College’s homecoming King and Queen took place Jan. 14-28. Voting was conducted online through Campus Connect.

Candidates were nominated from various clubs and organizations on campus. The King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the men’s basketball game vs. Butler on Feb. 12. The Homecoming Dance will follow at 9:30 p.m. in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Brief biographies on the Queen finalists and their activities at Cowley:

Name: Danielle St Clair
Parents: Jay and Diane St. Clair.
Hometown: Duncan, OK
Major: Pre-Dental Hygiene.
Sports: Cross Country/Track & Field.
Plans after Cowley: To attend a four-year college and continue running then get accepted into a Dental Hygiene program.
Name: Wendy Brigido
Parents: Clark and Erika Pint
Hometown: Wichita, KS
Major: Education
Honors: Journalism Scholarship
Activities, Clubs & or Sports at Cowley: A.E.C, Media Club, and is the photographer, and design editor of The Cowley Press.
Plans after Cowley: To attend Emporia State University and become a special education teacher.
Name: Rose Hooley
Parents: Lisa Hooley, and the late Daniel Hooley
Hometown: Arkansas City, KS
Major: Theatre
Activities, Clubs & or Sports at Cowley: Act One Drama Club, and is an ambassador for Film Club.
Honors at Cowley: Woody Award for best actress as Betty Haynes in “White Christmas”, and Queen Alalah finalist.
Plans after Cowley: To hopefully make it to New York City and earn a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theatre, then become a professional actress on Broadway

Honors at Cowley: December Student Athlete of the Month, weight and hammer record holder at Cowley (track).
Plans after Cowley: To attend Wichita State University and pursue a nursing degree and also be a part of the Shocker track and field team

Honors at Cowley: Outstanding Student Award, voted class president.
Plans after Cowley: To obtain a Bachelor's degree at a four-year university and eventually get a job working for the U.S. International Development Agency.

Name: Jace Franklin Jr.

Major: Psychology
Activities, Clubs, & or Sports at Cowley: Band, Choir, DTC president, Creative Claws, Movie Club, Art Club, Act One.
Honors: Band Scholarship, was in White Christmas as chorus, also in Peter Pan as Cecco the pirate.
Plans after Cowley: Continue his education in the psyche field. Also like to be a youth counselor or social worker.
Name: Edward Charles Mutchler, III
Parents: Ed Mutchler and Jennifer Mutchler
Hometown: Derby, KS
Major: Chemistry
Activities, Clubs, and or Sports at Cowley: Member of Mu Alpha Sigma Chi (Cowley’s Math and Science Club), part of Cowley’s co-ed cheer team. Enjoys disc-golf and skateboarding.
Honors at Cowley: Member of Phi Theta Kappa (National Honor’s Society).
Plans after Cowley: Attend Wichita State University and earn a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.

Activities, Clubs and or Sports at Cowley: One year as member of Cowley tennis team, one year with AEC team, Act one, Student Ambassador.
Honors at Cowley: International Tennis Association Scholar Athlete recipient 2012-2013, Student Ambassador of the Month of December, Vice President of AEC Club.
Plans after Cowley: Attend Oklahoma State University majoring in Technical Design in Theatre. After obtaining a Master’s degree, Rohr plans on working as a director at a junior college, and hopefully coming back to work at Cowley someday.
