ACES helps with Habitat for Humanity project

ACES programContinuing its service in the community, members of Cowley College’s Academic Civic Engagement through Service (ACES) program helped with the Habitat for Humanity home being built at 1027 West Oak Street in Arkansas City.

ACES has helped with each of the 13 Habitat for Humanity homes built in Arkansas City.

“This is one of those things that the students always look forward to helping with,” ACES sponsor James Fry said. “It is a real nice tie in when you get to meet the family that is moving in to the house.”

The students assisted with moving dirt and back filled dirt around the drive way, patio and porch. The group also helped pick up trash and debris before the Kristen King family moved in on Sunday.

ACES students Will Weeks, Karli Hoag, Jazmin Lara, Tamara Cook, and Bryan Ehling assisted with the project.
