Cowley College hosts Chamber Coffee


Ben Schears, vice president for institutional advancement, visits with members of the community during the Chamber Coffee hosted by Cowley College Thursday inside Ireland Hall. The event was planned through the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Schears spoke of the college’s Endowment Association and the history of Ireland Hall, which had its ground breaking in 1890 and was constructed at a cost of $38,000. The building is home to Cowley College’s Criminal Justice and Cosmetology programs.

At the conclusion of the event, Jill Hunter won the drawing for a pair of tickets to see comedian/ventriloquist Taylor Mason Thursday night in the Robert Brown Theatre. Suvanah Perdue was the winner of the drawing for a manicure/pedicure from the Cowley Cosmetology Department, and the City of Parkerfield was the winner of the drawing for $100 in Chamber Bucks.
