Cowley College receives recognition from the Manufacturing Institute

The Manufacturing Institute, located in Washington, D.C., recently named Cowley College as the newest member of the M-List. Cowley was acknowledged for their outstanding welding, machining, and manufacturing technology courses.

Enrolled students will be eligible to receive certifications from the American Welding Society, the National Institute of Metalworking Skills, and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute as well as receive college credit.

“I think this is a great opportunity for our local Cowley programs to be recognized nationally,” Cowley College Career and Technical Education Department Chair Joe Clasen said. “We have some very strong programs that could serve a larger market.”

The M-List recognizes high schools, community colleges, and universities that are teaching manufacturing students to industry standards. Specifically, these institutions offer students the opportunity to earn NAM-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certifications as a standard part of their manufacturing education programs.

Companies and schools interested in joining this effort or learning more can visit the Manufacturing Institute's web site.
