Cannon provides CPR training in Winfield
Chris Cannon, Cowley College Department Chair of Health & Human
Services and Director of EMS Education, provided hands-only CPR
(Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training for the Winfield Soroptimist
Club Friday at Hunters Café in Winfield.
More than 20 individuals learned the basics of lifesaving CPR during
the 30 minute session.
“Strengthening the chain of survival is critical to improve survival
rates in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest,” Cannon said. “This chain
starts with early recognition, early CPR, and early AED (automated external
defibrillator) use.”
Cowley College offers customizable lifesaving classes, including adult
and/or pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid. Certification classes start
at $20 per student and can be offered at your facility. Free hands-only
CPR training is available to the citizens of Cowley County with a minimum
class size of 12.
