PTK members attend meeting in Paola

Members of Alpha Gamma Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Cowley College recently attended a Northern District meeting in Paola, Kansas, at the Fort Scott Community College campus on September 7.

Advisor, Deborah Layton; current president of the Ark City campus, Kristen Phipps; and vice presidents Will Weeks and Mariah Regier left at 6 a.m. for the day in order to learn more about the organization, the regional goals and complete registrations on College Fish, which will provide access to materials on college transfer information, and scholarships available.

The individuals also started the process to get the “Competitive Edge,” an exclusive offering for honor society members where students can earn status levels helping them to compete in the global market with leadership profiles.

The occasion allowed the students to network with other students and advisors from Kansas and included training for this year’s Honors in Action project.
