RCB Bank establishes fund to benefit student-athletes

Since their arrival in Cowley County, RCB Bank has proven time and again to be a strong supporter of RCBCowley College. In the lead up to the annual Tiger Booster Club Blitz Drive, RCB Bank continued its tradition of community support by establishing an endowment fund to benefit Cowley College student-athletes.

Lonnie McCullough, RCB Market President for Arkansas City and Winfield, said RCB Bank strives to help meet the community’s current needs and also to prepare for its future needs.

“We understand the tremendous value that an institution like Cowley College brings to our community and certainly the athletic program is a major part of that,” McCullough said. “Supporting Cowley College and the student-athletes that attend there is a natural fit for RCB Bank.”

Part of RCB’s annual donation to Cowley College will go directly to helping meet the current year’s needs of student-athletes and part of its donation will establish a new endowment fund to benefit student-athletes at the school in the future.

“Having the support of RCB Bank and their willingness to help meet current and future scholarship needs for Cowley College students means the world to us,” said Ben Schears, Cowley College’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement.   “Establishing an endowed scholarship shows their commitment to the success of future generations of Cowley tigers.”

RCB Bank’s hope is that they not only assist with meeting current needs but also set in place a plan that will assist with future needs.

“We believe this endowment fund helps accomplish that goal,” McCullough said. “This appears to be a win-win-win situation for RCB Bank, Cowley College and for the student-athletes of Cowley College.”
