Benefit dinner to aid area food banks


benefitWith the help of Ark City Optimists, and the cooking of Jay Warren. Cowley College’s Academic Civic Engagement through Service (ACES) and Cowley Activity Awareness Team (CAAT) team will conduct a benefit Pulled Pork Dinner on Oct. 17.

CAAT and ACES students will be selling tickets for $10 each. The proceeds from this event will be used to purchase food supplies for Cowley County food banks. Each $10 ticket purchased will help pay for 40 meals at area food banks.

The dinner will consist of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, bread, and chocolate cake. A sit down lunch will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the college’s Earle N. Wright Community Room, while carry out meals can be picked up from 4:30 to 7 p.m. outside the north door of the Brown Center.
