Student works to be displayed during Life: Through Words and Lens event

Life: Through Words and Lens eventProviding Cowley College students an opportunity to show their work in a public forum, the Life: Through Words and Lens Student Works Reception will be held Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Earle N. Wright Community Room. TMU will be coming into the Wright room a little before 8 p.m. and will lead people from there to the theatre for the TMU concert.

Both events are free and open to the public.

Photographic works, writing portfolios, graphic design projects, and video projects will be on display. The work will be put together by students in Cowley College’s digital photography class, creative writing class, script writing class, broadcast class, and graphic design course.

Meg Smith, director of journalism, also invited students who participated in the gallery over the last five years to display their work.

“A special invitation went out the first week of November asking alumni to come to the show, tour the facilities and also to ‘hang’ if they had images they wanted to contribute,” Smith said.

A majority of the items on display will be a culmination of the hard work the students have done in the fall semester.
