Cowley College announces presidential candidates

 

After an extensive national search, the Cowley College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that there are three finalists for the presidency of Cowley College. The three finalists are being invited to participate in a public and an employee forum at Cowley College and interviews with the Board of Trustees.

Cowley College presidential finalists are (in alphabetical order):

 

Tony Crouch

Tony Crouch serves as Executive Vice President of Business Services at Cowley College.
Crouch is a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Alva, Oklahoma and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Management. He completed a master of science in leadership this past August from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
Crouch has been employed at the college since 1994 and has recently served as interim President and interim Athletic Director.
 

Dr. Bruce Exstrom

Dr. Bruce Exstrom serves as Vice President for Instructional Services at Garden City Community College. He previously served as Dean of Instructional Services at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas, and was the President of Allegany College of Maryland from July 2008 to July 2010. Dr. Exstrom has also held positions in higher education at Southeast Community College and Hamilton College in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He earned his doctorate degree in 2003 at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he focused on administration in curriculum and instruction, as well as higher education leadership. He completed a master of arts in adult and continuing education in 1994, and a bachelor of science in business administration in 1983, both from the University of Nebraska. His master's degree included an emphasis in human resource development and he previously earned an associate in arts degree, with business administration emphasis, at Northeast Community College, Norfolk, Nebraska, in 1981.
He is currently doing Post-Doctorate studies at Harvard University in Leadership in Education.
 
Dr. Dennis Rittle Dr. Dennis Rittle serves as Provost and Executive Vice President of Learning at Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas. Dr. Rittle began serving in higher education in 1995 and earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership with a major in Human Resource Development from the prestigious School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Regent University. During his service within higher education, Dr. Rittle has served on the staff of the Kansas Board of Regents where he aligned technical curriculum for all public postsecondary institutions across the state of Kansas.
Most recently, he was Dean of Academic Affairs at Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas. He has also served as a Technical Advancement Director at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. In addition, Dr. Rittle served as a program director, instructor, and curriculum writer for the Community College of the Air Force and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Forums: All forums will be held in the Earle N. Wright Room, located at 215 South 2nd Street.  There will be a brief introduction followed by a question/answer session. Comment forms will be given to all who attend and will be collected at the end of each forum.
