Cowley presents check for $478 to Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big SistersFollowing a successful Hot Rods N’ Heat event at Cowley College’s Career and Technical Education Department on Dec. 6, 2014, college officials recently presented Debi Clark, Big Brothers Big Sisters Area Program Director, with a check for $478.64.

The check is in addition to the more than $800 that was raised by Cowley College-Mulvane during its Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids’ Sake event that was held in October 2014.

The Hot Rods N’ Heat event was a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sumner County. The event featured a car show, chili cook-off and open house.

“Cowley has always been very supportive of Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Clark said.

Along with presenting Clark with a check, Joe Clasen, Career and Technical Education Department Chair, and Stephani Johns-Hines, associate vice president for Mulvane and Online Operations, also presented Great Western Dining Food Service Director Robert Rogers with a certificate in recognition of his work with the Hot Rods N’ Heat fundraiser.

Great Western Dining donated all of the proceeds of the chili they sold at the event.

“Great Western Dining is an integral part of Cowley College and is always more than willing to step up and help,” Johns-Hines said.
