100 total screens completed on Eating Disorder Screening Day

Eating Disorder Screening Day took place at Cowley College on February 26, 2015. Screeners were Lisa Butler of Four County Mental Health, as well as Cowley College’s own Tabitha Farley and Courtney Gougler.

Kristi Shaw, and Peg Williams, as well as Kayla Moore and Arnoldo Ruiz of the Cowley Activities Awareness Team (CAAT), worked hard at getting students involved. Shaw and Farley expressed their gratitude to all students who helped with the event.

One hundred total screens were completed. Four of the screens (4%) were positive, resulting in a recommendation of further assessment. A grand total of 3,497 mental health screens have now been completed since Cowley College and the local mental health center began collaborating on mental health screening days in 2003.

Members of the college will now turn its attention to working with students on National Alcohol Screening Day which is scheduled for April 9, 2015.
