Leaving Iowa is a family-friendly comedy about family and family vacations and is suitable for all ages.

The story centers on Don Browning, played by sophomore Andrew Horning, a writer who returns home and decides to finally take his father’s ashes to his childhood home, as requested. But when Don discovers Grandma’s house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa in search of a proper resting place. As he drives those familiar roads, the story shifts back and forth from the present to memories of the annual vacations of Don’s youth. Ultimately, Don’s journey leads him to reconcile his past and present at an unpredictable and perfect final destination.

Josh Fleig, Cowley College instrumental music instructor, will play the role of “Dad”, while Cowley alumnus Mary Prochaska is featured in the role of “Mom”.

Cowley sophomore Holly Landis landed the role of “Sis”, while Kayla McLaughlin, Gabriel Isaman, Paige Lundin, and Abby Killman make up the ensemble cast.
