Former Cowley students speak at Natural Science scholarship advisory council meeting


Former Cowley studentsFour former Cowley College students returned to the school’s Arkansas City campus and served as guest speakers during the Natural Science Department scholarship advisory council meeting on Tuesday, April 7.

The guest speakers in attendance were Brian Bird, Ashley Conner, Tiffany Tolbert, and Jordan Williams.

Bird attended Cowley College in 2011-2012 before transferring to Southwestern College and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He was accepted into the KU School of Medicine and is currently a first-year medical student at the school. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design.

Conner graduated from Cowley College in 2012 receiving an Associates of Science degree. She completed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and received her national certification (CPhT) in 2013. Conner is currently a first year pharmacy student with Creighton University, and will graduate in 2018 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. She interns part time with Graves Drug in Winfield as a Pharmacy Technician.

Tolbert graduated from Cowley College in 2010 with her Associates of Science degree. She received a Bachelor’s degree from WSU in Medical Laboratory Science. Tolbert is currently working for Diagnostic Laboratories of Oklahoma at the Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon, OK, as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.

Williams graduated from Cowley College in 2011 with an Associates of Science degree. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University in 2013 and is currently working for Dr. Tony Watkins in Winfield as a Dental Hygienist.
