Criminal justice department to host Tracking Day

Are you interested in a new hobby? Do you like the outdoors? Many people are not aware that Cowley County is fortunate enough to have one of the few professional man tracking organizations in the nation. On Friday April 24, Blue Line tracking will be conducting a tracking day hosted by Cowley College’s criminal justice department.

Blue Line Tracking is composed of volunteers from area law enforcement, fire, and emergency services as well as area citizens that have developed an expertise in tracking people. They assist law enforcement in search and rescue, criminal investigations and wherever needed. They currently conduct training across the country.

On April 30, Blue Line Tracking will be conducting training for Cowley College’s criminal justice students. While class size is limited there are several seats available for anyone from Cowley College that may have an interest in the topic.

There will be an educational session from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the President’s Dining Hall. Lunch will be on your own followed by hands on tracking exercises from 1-3:30 pm.
