Cowley’s Golden Tigers to hold Summer Enrollment on May 26

 

Golden TigersSummer enrollment for classes in the Golden Tigers at Cowley College is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 in the Webb-Brown Academic Center, Room 203, on the Arkansas City campus.

 

The Golden Tigers is for women and men age 50 and over. Fees for classes are due at the time of enrollment. Persons planning to attend enrollment should bring mailing labels to use on their enrollment forms and sign-up sheets. This saves writing your name repeatedly and speeds up the enrollment process. Enrollment by telephone or mail will be accepted after May 26.

 

Along with the summer classes, the Golden Tigers are planning a summer trip to Wichita to attend the Positive Aging Workshop on Tuesday, June 23. The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The trip will cost $20 for workshops, continental breakfast, a boxed lunch, vendor booths and transportation.

 

Also, the Tiger Booster Club and the Cowley Athletic Department will be running a fireworks stand again this year. To get involved or to find out more information contact Shane Larson or Patty Mugler at 620-441-5268 or stop by the Cowley College Athletic Office.

 

The summer 2015 schedule:
JUNE

  • Aqua Fun – (Session I) Monday, Wednesday, Friday, June 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29, 1-2 p.m. Family Aquatics Center, Arkansas City High School. Debbi Davidson, Instructor. Participants will be led by trained personnel through specially designed exercises that can help increase joint flexibility and improve mobility.
  • Aerobics – (Session I) Monday and Wednesday, June 1, 3 , 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 2:30-3:15 p.m. Ben Cleveland Wellness Center. Rikki Hettenbach, instructor. This energetic and upbeat class is sure to get your body moving. It’s fun and easy with a mix of 50’s to 90’s music that combine dancing, cardio and light weights for a great total body workout.
  • Exercise – (Session I) Tuesday and Thursday, June 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Ben Cleveland Wellness Center. Shannon Gurnee, Instructor. Class participants will work on the joint area and flexibility. Basic stretching and using vita bands will be explored.
  • Creative Cards – Tuesday, June 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., location to be determined. Margaret Neal, instructor. This class will feature some patriotic cards and quick and easy every day cards. The class will also work with electronic die cutting machines including the Silhouette and Cricut Explore. Please bring scissors and adhesives.

JULY
