Benefit dinner to aid area food banks      


Pork Benefit FlyerStudents in Cowley College’s ACES (Academic Civic Engagement through Service) and CAAT (Cowley Activity Awareness Team), with the help of the Ark City Optimist, will conduct a benefit Pulled Pork Dinner on Wednesday, October 29.

The meal is dine in or carry out at lunch and carry out only for supper. Lunch will be hosted in the Earle N. Wright Community Room and available from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Supper carry out, packaged and ready to go, will be available from 4:30-7 p.m. and can be picked up at the North door of the Brown Center.

The meal will include: pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, bread, and chocolate cake.

Tickets cost $10 each and are being sold by ACES and CAAT students. Those interested in tickets should call James Fry at 441-5269 or Tabitha Farley at 441-5236.

All proceeds will go towards a future food packaging event, in which all food packaged will stay local to help surrounding communities, food banks, and ministry meals.

A $10 ticket will package 40 servings.

“We were so pleased with last year's local impact that we have decided to continue our efforts to keep all food packaged benefitting local communities,” James Fry, coordinator of ACES said.
