After closing "Little Shop of Horrors," Cowley Theatre is hard at work on their next show

theatre rehearsalAfter successfully mounting their fall musical production of Little Shop of Horrors, the students and faculty of Cowley College's Theatre department is already deep into rehearsals on their next venture – a brand new version of the children's classic "The Velveteen Rabbit."

The show, which will feature puppetry, music and more, will receive three day-time performances for area schools on December 1-2, as well as a public evening performance on December 2 at 7 p.m.

Tickets to the evening performance will be $3 for adults, $2 for students, and free for all Blue Star Military Families.

"It's such a great script," said John Sefel, Cowley College's director of theatre programming. "I think it really captures the beauty of the original story, while feeling very fresh and new! In so many ways, between the laughter, the excitement, and a couple of pretty heavy moments, it really feels like something Pixar might do – I know I can't wait for my own kids to see it!"
