Concert features wide variety of jazz styles


jazz concertThe Cowley College Jazz Band and CC Singers showcased their talents by performing a wide variety of jazz styles and tunes during Thursday night's jazz concert in the Robert Brown Theatre. Under the direction of instrumental music director Josh Fleig, the Jazz Band performed "Beach Bossa", "Well, You Needn't (It's Over Now)", "When I was a Lad", "A Matter of Time", "Footprints", and "Blue Madness".

Soloists were, Sutton Wilson and Justin Woody on trumpet, Breanna Burdick and Ian McMains on saxophone, Levi Sutton on piano, Michael Burley on trombone, and Logan Brewer on guitar.

Other Jazz Band members were saxophonists Abi Hasselbring, Jacob Westerman, and Jacob Worm. Trumpeters Valerie Schlegel, Lake Ferguson, and Jonathan Lane. Trombonists Brooke Tye, Woodrow Harmon, and Josh Waldorf. Drummers Henry Flickinger and Ty Spencer. Special guest Lee Valasquez performed on the bass guitar.

Led by vocal music director Connie Donatelli, the CC Singers performed "Satin Doll", "I Sing, You Sing", "God Bless the Child", "I've Got the World on a String", and "Everything".

Hunter DeWald, Andrew Horning, Abby Killman, Abby Ronnfeldt, and Joseph White served as soloists. While, Elizabeth Hampton and Brenda Mattson also performed as members of the CC Singers. The concert was a fun and enjoyable evening for those in attendance.
