Rorabaugh completes Blackboard Learn Certified Trainer program
Julie Rorabaugh, Cowley College LMS System Administrator, recently completed the Blackboard Learn Certified Trainer program.
The Blackboard Certified Trainer Program is a collaborative learning experience designed to give professionals who are tasked with training and support at their institutions or organizations an in depth look at how to train effectively. The program is based on a professional training framework that promotes core competencies and best practices in training, thus ensuring that the Blackboard user community as a whole has access to the highest quality training programs.
Rorabaugh took the entire program online and said despite being a trainer for some time now it was still a challenge. Rorabaugh said the capstone project was a presentation online for their cohort group.
“Two of my colleagues were hearing impaired faculty from Gallaudet University, a chartered private university for the education of Deaf and hard of hearing in Washington, D.C., so I gained a new perspective on the struggles that many students face, and why it is so imperative that we make all of our courses at Cowley College ADA compliant,” Rorabaugh said. “It’s not just the law…it’s the right thing to do.”
