Cowley College to hold 93rd Commencement on May 7


A total of 611 students will be candidates for graduation Saturday, May 7 when Cowley College holds its 93rd Commencement exercises.


The Commencement exercises will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. Individuals requiring special seating at Commencement should plan to arrive no later than 9:40 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.

A reception for graduates, family members and friends will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Earle N. Wright Community Room inside the Brown Center.

Three hundred and twenty seven of the students are expected to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

The featured speaker is Linda Fund, who is the Executive Director of the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees (KACCT).
Members of Cowley’s Student Senate will address the class. D’Abreian Bush, sophomore business major from Wichita, KS, served as Student Senate president during the 2015-2016 academic year. While, Madeline Pegorsch, a sophomore criminal justice major from Winfield, KS, served as Student Senate vice president.

Students listed in the official Commencement program on Saturday, May 7 are candidates for the associate of arts degree, the associate degree of applied science, the associate degree of general studies, the associate degree of science, or the college certificate.

The students include summer 2015 graduates through summer 2016 graduates. Students who graduated last summer and last December have received their diplomas. May 2016 graduates will receive their diplomas in June.
