Cowley’s Golden Tigers to hold fall enrollment Aug. 26

The Cowley College Golden Tigers, a popular program for men and women age 50 and over, will hold its fall enrollment from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, August 26 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room inside the Brown Center on the main campus in Arkansas City.

There is a $5 registration fee per person for the semester, and a $2 fee per class. Some classes have additional costs or supplies needed.

Persons attending fall enrollment are reminded to bring their mailing labels to use on the enrollment form and sign-up sheets. This saves writing their name multiple times and speeds up the enrollment process.

Three educational trips are planned throughout the fall. The trips include Bentonville, AR and a pair of trips to Wichita, KS.

Individuals will have an opportunity to meet Cowley College’s new president, Dr. Dennis Rittle, from 1-2 p.m. in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

The Golden Tigers are also offering a Driver Safety Class from 1-5 p.m. September 29-30. The class will be held at the Winfield Chamber. The Chamber Office is located at 123 E. 9th in Winfield. Ron Upton will serve as the instructor for the class. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

The Driver Safety program is an 8-hour refresher course. Individuals must attend both sessions to receive a certificate. Insurance companies in Kansas give a discount to seniors on their car insurance upon class completion.
