Cowley hosts successful Blood Drive

blood driveCowley College recently conducted the annual American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, October 1 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

The annual blood drive had 47 people give 39 units of usable blood according to figures released by Lea Newman, coordinator of student health services.

Newman said each pint of whole blood has the potential to save up to 3 lives.

“Thank you so much to those of you who donated,” Newman said. “We have fellow Tiger family members who rely on regular blood transfusions and it is wonderful to be directly involved. Often times you are not aware of just how much your donation means and who it affects. Thank you also James Fry and the ACES and CAAT members. We are a great team and this blood drive would not have been as successful without each one of you.”
