Double screening of Project 22 conducted on Veteran’s Day

Stephani Johns-Hines, Cowley College associate vice president for Mulvane and online operations, supported a double screening of Project 22 at Mulvane High School on Veteran's Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Project 22 was a 22 day, 6,500 mile motorcycle awareness campaign from San Francisco to New York City to raise awareness of the high rate of suicides within the Veteran community. Twenty two is also the number of veterans lost each day to suicide, which is more than what is lost every day to combat. The event last week was an effort to raise awareness and for multiple veteran organizations to be present and provide information about support and resources available to veterans and dependents.

Representatives from the Salvation Army-Veteran Affairs Services, VA, Overwatch Inc., Team RWB (Red, White &Blue) and several other veteran organizations were on hand for the double screening.
