partnershipNewell-Rubbermaid recognized for industry partnership with Cowley College

As part of the Kansas Board of Regents employer engagement initiative, Cowley College recently presented Newell-Rubbermaid with a Champion Level plaque in recognition of their work with the school.

Newell-Rubbermaid, the county’s largest employer, helped Cowley College build the school’s Mechatronics curriculum.

“With the proud history that both Cowley College and Newell-Rubbermaid share in Cowley County our partnership and shared goals feels natural,” Ben Byo, Newell-Rubbermaid Director of Operations said. “We are honored by the Champion Level plaque, proud of the work that has been done, and excited about the opportunity to further build upon our partnership.”

Following the plaque presentation Byo took representatives of the College on a tour of the Newell-Rubbermaid facility located at 3415 E. 12th Avenue in Winfield, KS.

Cowley College president Dr. Dennis Rittle was impressed by the facility and is proud of the successful partnership between Newell Rubbermaid and Cowley College.

“This is one of those moments where we are all reminded of the exponential impact we make when we partner together to achieve some shared goals---building better products, providing better services, and enriching our communities,” Dr. Rittle said.
