Graham, Garcia named Homecoming King and Queen


Graham, Garcia named Homecoming King and QueenCapping a week full of Homecoming activities, Blake Graham and Abby Garcia were named Cowley College’s Homecoming king and queen during halftime of the Tiger men’s basketball game vs. Barton Community College on Wednesday night at W.S. Scott Auditorium.

Graham is the son of Tony Graham and Brenda and Steve Walker. At Cowley, he is a graphic design major, a Cowley Tutor, resident assistant in the dorms, and NJCAA All-Academic Team selection as a member of the nationally ranked Tiger tennis team. After Cowley he plans to pursue a degree in architecture.

Garcia is the daughter of Martin and Suzy Garcia and is an elementary education major. At Cowley, she is vice president of leadership for Phi Theta Kappa, a Cowley Tutor, a past student of the month and former member of the Lady Tiger tennis team. After Cowley she plans to transfer to Emporia State University.

Gavin Brown, Central Dorm Manager and intramural coordinator, as well as Student Senate president Kelli Ailey and Student Senate Vice President Kyrstyn Kinzie, were on hand to crown the new king and queen.

Boston Graber, son of Zach and Megan Graber, and Kyndall Turner, daughter of Chase and Chelsi Turner, handled the duties of the crown bearers.

Queen finalists were:

Peyton Adams, Carly Gum, Ashley Huslig, Olivia Powell, and Abby Garcia.

King finalists were:

Harvey Baker, Jr., Connor Litton, Matheus Martins, Brett Wright, and Blake Graham.
