Theatre Department to present Rumors by Neil Simon

Theatre Department to present Rumors by Neil SimonThe Cowley College Theatre Department is happy to present the beloved farce Rumors by Neil Simon April 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert Brown Theatre.

Rumors' convoluted plot involves four couples who gather to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary of their best friends only to discover an attempted suicide - or is it? A missing wife, missing cook, a damaged car, whip lash, a reoccurring back spasm, and rumors galore add to the comedic mayhem as the situation gets progressively more difficult to sustain when nobody can remember who has been told what about whom.

Tickets go on sale April 1. General admission tickets are $10, while students and Blue Star families will be admitted for $8. Tickets can be purchased with Visa, Master Card, Discover, cash or personal check. Tickets may be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cowley Box Office located in the lobby of the Robert Brown Center or via phone using a credit card at 620-441-5570.

Tickets may also be purchased online at

Interim theatre director Cara Kem says Rumors is absolutely hilarious! Neil Simon is a genius when it comes writing a good farce, and Rumors is among his best work.

"My cast is absolutely incredible,” Kem said. “I couldn't have asked for a more dedicated group of actors.

Kem also praised the work of technical director of theatre John Rohr.

“John has a tendency to create fantastic sets,” Kem said. “He does not leave out details- and this is his biggest yet.”

Rumors is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
