Golden Tigers offering educational trips


There is still time to reserve a spot for one of Cowley College’s Golden Tigers’ educational trips planned in 2016.

Golden Tiger trips being offered are Concordia, KS on Thursday, September 29, Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, October 18, and Towanda, KS on Thursday, December 8.

Information on the trips:

*Thursday, September 29 – Concordia, KS. Concordia is a small town in north central Kansas that has lots to see and do. The day will consist of a visit to the Orphan Train Museum, the Brown Grand Theatre, Nazareth Convent, World War II POW Camp Concordia and Whole Wall Mural. Lunch will be served at a delightful tea room. Depart at 6:45 a.m. and return around 8 p.m. Cost is $50 and includes lunch.

*Tuesday, October 18 – Tulsa, OK. The first stop of the trip will be the Linnaeus Teaching Gardens in Woodward Park. There will be a guided tour of the gardens to learn about fall flowers and shrubs. A lunch buffet will then be offered at the Incredible Pizza restaurant. There will be time to play mini-golf, mini-bowling, bumper cars and more in the game room. After lunch the group will visit the Philbrook Museum for a guided tour of one of America’s finest museums. There will be a Villa Highlights tour and a chance to view exhibits on all three floors. There will also be time to explore on your own. Depart at 7 a.m. and return by 8:30 p.m. Cost is $50 and includes lunch.

*Thursday, December 8 – Towanda, KS. Enjoy “A Country Christmas” at the Fulton Valley Farms near Towanda, KS. Enjoy a Christmas buffet featuring turkey and ham with all the trimmings. There will also be an opportunity to view the wooded light display and live nativity. The farm also has several live reindeer to pet of take a picture with. There is a possibility the group may even visit other holiday displays in the area. Depart at 4:15 p.m. and return by 10:30 p.m. Cost is $50 and includes dinner.
