Mile Marker Review announces Flash Fiction Contest winners

Cowley College’s online literary journal, Mile Marker Review (, is extremely pleased to announce the publication of its second annual Flash Fiction Contest winners.

For the contest, writers had to compose a fictional story of 350 words or less, a hefty challenge. The Mile Marker Review editors were extremely pleased with all the great submissions, and it was a difficult decision to narrow down their picks. However, they selected seven total pieces:

Winners were Cowley students Aimee Morgan, Austin Crowe, Aimee Schwintz, Michelle Vishnefske, Katie Rethmeier, and Mallory Case. Cowley alumni Vic Olmstead was the other winner.

Congratulations to the winners! Please check out their work under the Fiction heading.

Mile Marker Review currently holding a new contest open to all Cowley students, faculty, and alumni until October 21. This time, they are accepting Halloween themed (scary stuff) works, including poetry, photos, and fiction stories of three sentences or less.

In addition, Mile Marker Review ( also publishes weekly articles and blogs written by Cowley students as well as publishing collected works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art and design, and photography every spring.
