New participants highlight Writers’ Corner

New participants highlight Writers CornerWriters’ Corner, a night of poetry and prose hosted by Cowley’s Creative Writing program, went off beautifully with nine of the 11 writers presenting original works being new to the event.

“We had a great turnout for our first Writers’ Corner of the academic year, and the range of works showed Cowley writers’ talents, creativity, and their work during the first few months of the year,” says Marlys Cervantes, director of the program and Department Chair of Humanities. “I am so proud of this group of students who came together, and we look forward to more exciting events of this nature where they can share their writing.”

Upcoming events for the program include the last Lines & Lyrics on the Lawn for this semester on November 18 at 12:15 p.m. and a student showcase, Life: Through Words and Lens, in the Wright Room on December 2 at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend both of these events.
