Voting underway for Homecoming King and Queen

The purpose of Homecoming is to promote school spirit and pride for Cowley College. Homecoming week, February 12-15, is full of exciting events that build tradition, relationships, and pride for Cowley. This year’s homecoming theme is from the popular movie Wizard of Oz and since Cowley is in Kansas and there really is no place like home OR Cowley, there wasn’t a more fitting theme for this year’s homecoming sweepstakes.

Cowley students and employees have narrowed the Homecoming King and Queen nominees down to an outstanding group of five King and Queen candidates. Voting can be done at and will run January 22-29 with Cowley students, faculty and staff able to vote for their selection of Homecoming King and Queen 2018.

After votes are tallied, the coronation of the King and Queen will be announced Wednesday, February 14, during halftime of the men’s basketball game vs. Dodge City Community College which is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. following the conclusions of the women’s basketball game that tips-off at 5:30 p.m.

The Cowley Homecoming Spirit week will have many activities and opportunities for student and employees to get involved in the fun. Festivities will begin Monday, February 12 and continue through the week with daily dress-up themes, tie dying, Cowley Cuisine competition, Tiger Banner Competition, the annual Homecoming Sweepstakes Trophy Competition, as well as the crowning of Homecoming King and Queen 2018 with the Homecoming Dance to follow.
