Cowley students take part in Dorm Storm activities

With the fall semester beginning Tuesday, August 15, Cowley College students began moving into the dorms on Saturday during the school’s annual Dorm Storm event.

A cookout outside the McAtee Dining Center followed the event, while Cowley students also had an opportunity to swim for free at Paris Park Pool.

According to Lynlea Bartlett, director of student housing, the dorms are near capacity but are still accepting students.

Bartlett said she was pleased with the Dorm Storm event and was glad the rain held off to allow the students a pleasant move in day.

“The event went smoothly. The dorm managers and myself are excited to have everyone here in the dorms,” Bartlett said.

Upcoming student life events include:

  • On Tuesday, August 15, famed hypnotist Eric Mina will bring his unique brand of hypnotism to Cowley College for a 7 p.m. performance in the Robert Brown Theatre.
  • A Back to School Dance will be held Thursday, August 17 from 8:30-11:30 p.m. in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
  • Free Late Cowley College Movie Night at Cowley Cinema 8 will take place at midnight on Friday, August 18.
