Cowley College Theatre Department provides update on upcoming performances
July 22, 2020
Advanced ticket sales will begin Monday, August 3 for the Cowley College Theatre Department production of the musical 9 to 5. The musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. August 20-22 with a 2 p.m. matinee offered on Saturday, August 22. The dinner scheduled for Friday, August 21 has been cancelled.
Music and lyrics for “9 to 5” were composed by Dolly Parton and the book which was written by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss (Hart). In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy, and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover.
Tickets may be purchased online up to one hour before show time at cowley.edu/boxoffice, or at the Cowley Box Office from 12-1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Box office and will call opens one and half hours before show time of each performance.
